Q-Sex News Jury Awards $1.7M To Woman Spanked At Work Fresno, CA: A woman who was spanked in front of her co-workers in what her employer called a camaraderie-building exercise has been awarded $1.7 million. Janet Orlando, 53, was subjected to sexual harassment and sexual battery when she was paddled on the rear end two years ago at home security company Alarm One Inc., a jury ruled. The jury of six men and six women said Orlando did not suffer from sexual assault as she had alleged. Jurors awarded Orlando $10,000 for economic loss, $40,000 for future medical costs and $450,000 for emotional distress, pain and suffering. They awarded her $1.2 million in punitive damages. Orlando's attorney, Nicholas "Butch" Wagner, did not return calls for comment. K. Poncho Baker, an attorney for Alarm One, said the award was excessive. "I think the jury was so upset at Alarm One that they went overboard," Baker said. "Not to say that what Alarm One did was right, but this allows her to manipulate the system." Orlando quit in 2004, less than a year after she was hired at the Fresno office, saying she was humiliated during the company's team-building practices. Employees were paddled with rival companies' yard signs as part of a contest that pitted sales teams against each other, according to court documents. The winners poked fun at the losers, throwing pies at them, feeding them baby food, making them wear diapers and swatting their buttocks. Lawyers for Alarm One, an Anaheim-based, 300-employee company, said the spankings were not discriminatory because they were given to both male and female workers and that Orlando and others willingly took part. The company has since abandoned the practice. During the trial, company attorneys revealed that Orlando had sued a previous employer, also claiming that she had been sexually harassed. (I.7M... Q-Sex News Yonkers Woman Gets $1,100 Cable TV Porn Bill Yonkers, NY: A 62-year-old retired schoolteacher is fighting with Cablevision over an $1,100 bill for porn and gangsta rap. Claudia Lee said the charges appeared on her February bill, one month after she bundled her Cable TV, computer and phone services together with Cablevision. Despite Cablevision's assurances to the state Attorney General's Office that her problem would be resolved, Lee has been forced to pay the company $779 and must cough up an additional $652 by today or her phone, Internet and television service could be cut off. Cablevision said Lee may not have ordered the Playboy Channel programs, but someone in her home did. Q-News Bust SEX RING CHARGES Fort Myers, FL: An undercover sting revealed that Magnetic Plus Natural Healing at 1621 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, was selling more than massages. The owner, Adam Scott Cooper, 36, was arrested for receiving proceeds of prostitution, which is a third-degree felony, said Capt. Dominick Ferrante, of the Lee County Sheriff's Office. An undercover officer from the Lee County Sheriff's Office posed as a client, and a female employee offered him "full service," Ferrante said. The woman, whose name was not released, then told him to take off his clothes and gave him a condom. While two women were at the business at the time of the arrest, they are not being charged because they are a part of an ongoing investigation, Ferrante said. Q-News Bust Morgan Hill, CA: Wrapping up an extensive investigation, Morgan Hill Police officers arrested two San Jose women on charges related to prostitution. Nhung Huynh, 42, was arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution and living in a house of prostitution. Hoa Le, 50, was arrested on suspicion of living in a house of prostitution. Both were cited and released. The women were arrested when Morgan Hill police officers served a search warrant at Morgan Hill Tanning, 145 West Main Avenue. Morgan Hill Police Cmdr. Joe Sampson said the officers had to force their way into the business. A tip from neighbors of the salon jump-started the investigation, Sampson said. The business advertised in a Spanish-language publication called "La Ganga" and the Metro weekly newspaper, as well as on the Craigslist Web site, which allows its users to post classified ads for jobs, housing, companionship and other activities. The advertisements offered massages as well as tanning. Morgan Hill police ran a month-long investigation, detectives talked to clients of the tanning salon, gathered evidence to apply for a search warrant for the business, but the clients were not arrested. There were no clients in the business when the search warrant was served. Sampson said many of the clients that detectives talked to as they came out of the business live outside of Morgan Hill. They told detectives they came to Morgan Hill because they saw advertisements placed by the women. The San Jose Police Department Vice unit assisted in the investigation as they had contact with the women arrested in San Jose. Detectives are investigating leads that indicate there may be other prostitutes operating in Morgan Hill, he added.
