Q-News Bust No More Wheeling At Green Door Wheeling, WV: Five people were marched out of a so called house of prostitution in handcuffs Wednesday: 36-year-old William Lapsey, 32-year-old Melissa DaRe, 31-year-old Heather Henley, 60-year-old Sheila Briggs, and 34-year-old Mary Moore. The so-called Green Door, at 2126 Main Street has been busted many times over the years. At times police have had huge amounts of evidence such as condoms and lubricating substances. Yet they always bounced back. Police say this has been going on forever. But this time, police say it will be permanent. On Wednesday evening, the city was already boarding the building up. Now they're going for a court order to prevent them from re-setting up shop. The madam and employees aren't the only ones in trouble. Police have been doing surveillance and have run the plates of "customers" as well. Chief Kevin Gessler says if you are one of the individuals who visited the house, you should expect a call from police. Another slow "Real Crime," day in Wheeling! ~ $2.00 Bob ![]() 6/28/2006
Q-Sex News Washington DC To The Rescue Washington, DC: Prostitution and Taxes: New Solution to Combat Oldest Profession? Hire a hooker, pay the price! That's the ingenious idea from Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa. Go after pimps and prostitutes the same way the government went after Al Capone, through taxes! His proposal would make certain tax crimes a felony when the money comes from criminal activity. Pimps would be required, like any other employer, to file employment forms and withhold taxes for the hookers working for them. When they don't... well, you get the idea. The bigger idea isn't just to go after pimps, but to try to curb the horrible crime of sex trafficking, which often includes young children. Yeah, all pimps better get those 1120-S's filed or their 1040, schedule C in on time, geez! How much will hunting down Pimp's cost us taxpayer? ~ $2.00 Bob ![]() 6/27/2006
Q-News Bust Oh, Rochester! Henrietta, NY: The Town of Henrietta has shut down five massage parlors; Tranquility, ScentSational Day Spa, Bronze Bodies, 7th Heaven Day Spa and Ambiance Skin Care were all ordered closed by code enforcement officials, citing lack of proper permitting or improper use for the zoning where located. ScentSational was the facility where an employee was arrested on misdemeanor charges of prostitution two weeks ago. Officials claim that the businesses constitute "adult use." As such, those businesses that offer massages but do not have people licensed to do so are considered "adult-use establishments" and must be located in an industrial/limited commercial district. None of the five business locations is in an industrial/limited commercial district, said town officials, and none appears to have licensed massage therapists. "We've been working on this issue of unpermitted uses for some time," said Henrietta Supervisor Jim Breese. Tranquility at 3699 West Henrietta Road; Bronze Bodies at 1487 Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road; Seventh Heaven Day Spa at 4139 West Henrietta Road; and Ambiance Skin Care Day Spa, LLC at 4192 West Henrietta Road. "They weren't closed because of alleged prostitution," Breese said. "That's not the issue with us." The town doesn't have the authority to go after individuals who perform massages without a license but it can enforce its zoning laws and shut down businesses, said Daniel J. Mastrella, attorney for the town. Licensing and regulating massage therapists is done by the New York State Education Department. Enforcement is done by police agencies. "We're enforcing what we can," Mastrella said. "At this point and time, the town building inspector has shut down all establishments that the town is aware of." $2.00 Bob ![]() 6/26/2006
Q-Sex New Soda Jerk! Deland, FL: A former convenience store clerk who urinated in a bottle of soda that was later drunk by a customer was sentenced Thursday to six months in jail. Anthony Mesa, 22, has already served half his sentence since pleading no contest to tampering with a consumer product, and will remain on a form of house arrest for two years after release. He had faced up to 30 years in jail. Circuit Judge James R. Clayton withheld adjudication on the case, which means Mesa will not be considered a convicted felon if he abides by the sentence. Mesa was working at a Pix store in Deltona in August when he and a co-worker decided to play practical jokes. They put eggs in beer cartons, and Mesa thought it would be funny to urinate into a drink, according to arrest reports. He admitted urinating into a Mountain Dew and placing it back into the refrigerator, authorities said. The victim, a foreman with a Daytona Beach construction company, became suspicious of the drink after he chugged it and vomited three or four times. He settled a civil complaint with the store for an undisclosed amount of money before a lawsuit was filed. What's going on out there in this world?!? ~ $2.00 Bob ![]() 6/25/2006
Q-Sex News I Hope He Kept His Receipt? Providence, RI: A former handyman has won more than $400,000 in a lawsuit over a penile implant that gave him a 10-year erection. Charles "Chick" Lennon, 68, received the steel and plastic implant in 1996, about two years before Viagra went on the market. The Dura-II is designed to allow impotent men to position the penis upward for sex, then lower it. But Lennon could not position his penis downward. He said he could no longer hug people, ride a bike, swim or wear bathing trunks because of the pain and embarrassment. He has become a recluse and is uncomfortable being around his grandchildren, his lawyer said. In 2004, a jury awarded him $750,000. A judge called that excessive and reduced it to $400,000. On Friday, the Rhode Island Supreme Court affirmed that award in a ruling that turned on a procedural matter. "I don't know any man who for any amount of money would want to trade and take my client's life," said Jules D'Alessandro, Lennon's attorney. "He's not a whole person." A lawyer representing both Dura-II manufacturer Dacomed Corp. and the company's insurer declined to comment. Dacomed maintained that nothing was wrong with the implant. The implant consists of a series of plastic plates strung together with steel surgical wire, almost like a roll of wrapped coins. Springs press against the plates, creating enough surface tension to simulate an erection, D'Alessandro said. Lennon cannot get the implant removed because of health problems, including open-heart surgery, his lawyer said. Impotence drugs could not help Lennon even if he were able to have the device taken out, because tissue had be to removed for it to be implanted. Dacomed was later acquired by a California company whose sales dropped when Viagra was introduced on the market. The company filed for bankruptcy the following year. Q-Sex News The City That Loves You Back! New York, NY: A police sting netted 13 suspected subway flashers and gropers, including some who made a move on undercover officers. Authorities have just announced the results of the two-day sting, called Operation Exposure, which was conducted in late May. But the crackdown is continuing. It was begun after increased harassment complaints by female straphangers, New York Police Department Transit Bureau Chief James Hall said. In a number of cases, women have tackled the inappropriate behavior on their own, taking cellphone pictures of men they said had harassed them, and posting them on the Internet. Thao Nguyen, a 23-year-old marketing director, snapped a photo of restaurateur Dan Hoyt exposing himself to her on a train. He was arrested, and has been put on two years probation and ordered into counseling. In the May sting, both uniformed and plainclothes officers rode rush-hour trains and staked out platforms. The suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 58, were charged with crimes that included sexual abuse, forcible touching and public lewdness. In some cases, the men actually touched undercover police officers. "It was part of ongoing efforts by the NYPD to make the subways as safe and hospitable as possible," said NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne. "We hope there'll also be deterrent value for potential perpetrators who recognize their 'victim' may be a police officer." Q-Sex News Placed On His Groin?!?! Los Angeles, CA: An appeals court has ruled that a federal judge erred in requiring a sex offender to undergo a periodic test that measures his response to erotic images. In its decision handed down Tuesday, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals described the test as "Orwellian" because it examines the mind of Matthew Weber, not just his body. The three-judge appeals court panel unanimously vacated U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson's 2001 judgment and sent Weber's case back to district court. Pregerson had ruled that Weber, in order to be released from prison, would have to undergo tests in which a pressure-sensitive electronic device is placed on his groin and his response to stimulating images is monitored, said his lawyer, Jonathan Libby. Weber objected to the test, which is used in up to a quarter of all adult sex offender treatment programs, according to the appeals court. Tuesday's ruling doesn't outlaw the test. Weber was serving a 27-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer. I had no idea this stuff was going on, did you? Q-Sex News Chubby Flasher Better Hold The Rye, And Mayo... Rye, NH: Police are warning of a male flasher on the beaches of Rye. They're responding to a report that a woman was flashed at Odiorne State Park on Friday, and have noted that the flasher's description - a white male, about 55, with a chubby belly and gray chest hair - is similar to that of a man who exposed himself to beachgoers last year. That man has not been caught, though last year a woman reported being fondled by a flasher at Odiorne Point. Police say reports of the flasher - who uses underwear to mask his face - have been sporadic through the years. If you are gonna Flash, get in shape man! ~ $2.00 Bob ![]() 6/21/2006
Q-Sex News Candy Is Dandy, But Liquor Is Quicker Sonoma County, CA: The daughter of the owner of Korbel Champagne Cellars and her boyfriend won't face criminal charges after two employees accused them of rape at the winery, the Sonoma County district attorney's office said Tuesday. After a seven-week investigation that included interviews with 40 witnesses, prosecutor Bill Brockley said he couldn't prove the case. The women, both 23, said they were closing Korbel's deli about 4pm. on April 27 when they were invited to join Richie Ann Anderson, 38, and Christopher Samii, 31, drinking beer. Socializing turned sexual over the next four hours as one woman kissed Anderson, according to police records. The party moved to a pool house and spa on the winery grounds where the women alleged that Samii raped one of them and forced her to perform oral sex on Anderson. As they ran away, one woman broke her ankle. They reported the alleged assault at a hospital the next day while seeking treatment for the ankle. Anderson and Samii were arrested April 28 on suspicion of rape and forced oral copulation. Both remained free on $50,000 bail. Terry O'Reilly, lawyer for the women, pledged Tuesday to sue Korbel for failing to protect its employees. "The law requires that they treat their employees with care. In this case, they clearly didn't do that," he said. "This place is supposed to be closed. There's not supposed to be a party." Chris Andrian, Anderson's lawyer, said he never believed the allegations against his client, who has no criminal record. He said the women were motivated by money. Anderson is the daughter of Gary Heck, president and owner of Korbel. Heck's father, Adolf Heck, bought the winery from the Korbel family in 1954. According to its Web site, Korbel was established in 1882 and also owns Kenwood, Lake Sonoma and Valley of the Moon wineries. Q-News Bust The Ying And Yang Of It All Antioch, CA: The Antioch Police Department cited one woman for prostitution after locating what police say is a house of prostitution in the 200 block of Rossi Avenue in Antioch. The prostitution operation at the house was allegedly being advertised on the Internet. An undercover detective went to the residence around 10:22pm on Thursday, and met a woman who, according to police, was there to perform sex acts with customers. Police determined that the house was operated for the purpose of prostitution. Ying Ying Wo, a 41-year-old Antioch woman, was cited and released for prostitution, police reported. May Lam, a 36-year-old Oakland woman, was arrested on charges of conspiracy and probation violation and brought to the county jail in Martinez. Q-Sex News Chest Of Troubles? Lakeview, IL: An new adult store, The Pleasure Chest is set to open, but some of the towns locals of the North Side don't want it in their area. In recent years, the area around Newport and Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview has seen fancy new townhomes built and upscale families with kids moving in. The neighborhood has been gentrified and yuppified. Now, some say, it's being "porno-fied." The city has approved a new business called the Pleasure Chest, and many nearby residents are not happy. "Maybe there's a place for it, but we're a residential area with lots of little children," said a local resident. "You're going to walk down the street, and the kids are going to say, 'Mommy, what is that?' And they're going to say, 'It's a sex store,'" said another resident. And that's exactly what the Pleasure Chest is. It's a sexual supermarket, selling XXX-rated books and DVDs, as well as DVDs, lotions, gels, gadgets, gizmos and devices. But say what you will about the inventory. The store itself is pleasant and non-threatening. There are no peep shows, no peepers hanging around and no kids allowed. "A person has the right of pursuit of happiness and sexuality, and self-awareness is part of that right," said owner Brian Robinson. Opponents of the store tried to stop it on zoning grounds, but the city said no. That pleases some. "It's just another element of the city, and I don't see any problem with it," said yet another resident Peirce Schmidt. "There's a pool hall over there that probably has more trouble." Ald. Ted Matlak (32nd) says he knows some residents find the store distasteful, but he says there are no legal grounds to prevent it from being there. He does say he hopes he can persuade the owner to make sure the exterior remains low-key and inoffensive. Q-Sex News The Girl From Brazil New York, NY: A Brazilian beauty accused of running a Manhattan million-dollar prostitution ring insists she's no hooker. Andreia Schwartz said her luxurious lifestyle was made possible by several "sugar daddies" - some of the world's most influential, wealthy men. In a Rikers Island interview, Schwartz reeled off some of the names from her past - including Time Warner Chief Financial Officer Wayne Pace. Schwartz said Pace was extremely generous, giving her cash and clothes - and one source close to the probe confirmed the Time Warner titan wrote several five-figure checks to her. Schwartz is at Rikers, where she's being held without bail on charges of prostitution, money laundering and drug peddling. When she moved to New York, she danced at the Flash Dancers strip club for a few months. "I hated it," she said. She said she later wed Forrest Cannon and they lived in a West 16th Street apartment she bought. When the marriage fizzled, Schwartz unloaded the apartment for $500,000. Her next stop was an Eighth Avenue rental, where she said she let four call girls shack up with her. While the women gave her money toward her rent, she said she was barely home and had nothing to do with the men they brought around. At her West 58th Street condo, she insisted she lived alone, although friends and relatives would stay over. She disputed police accounts that she had a stable of call girls lavish men with sex and drugs there. She ended up in the slammer, she said, after befriending a man who turned out to be an undercover cop. "He told me he loved me," she said. Over the course of three months, the cop wooed her with flowers and tried to solicit her, Schwartz said, but she told him she didn't sell sex. When he asked her to, she said, she referred him to another woman. The undercover cop later asked her to help him score some cocaine for a bachelor party, she said. "Everybody knows a drug dealer in New York," said Schwartz, who said she's got "200 friends" in the city - no more than 10 of them call girls. Schwartz called someone who knew a dealer and got the cop his coke. She gave it to him and took his money - an act she says he secretly videotaped with a hidden camera. "That's entrapment," she said of the episode. "I never had a million-five," she said, referring to the $1.5 million that cops say she pulled in from her sex ring. "You know how much I have? $300,000." And while cops say she often journeyed to Brazil to bring back women to ply the skin trade, Schwartz said she went there to see a boy she called her "adopted" son - the 12-year-old child of her late twin sister. "How can I be a madam?" she asked in seeming exasperation before a guard said her time was up. "It's ridiculous." You got to love America! - $2.00 ![]() 6/16/2006
Q-Sex News Church Not Amused Greenwood, IN: Two teen-age girls were banned from a church festival in Greenwood after flashing their breasts to get extended time on one of the amusment rides, police said. Police Chief Joe Pitcher said a festival worker extended the carnival ride to more than 20 minutes for the girls, ages 17 and 18. Officers assigned to festival security questioned the teens. Both admitted to pulling down their shirt tops while on the Orbiter ride at last weekend's Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church festival, a police report said. The incident occurred late Saturday night after most people had left, police said. Both girls were banned from the property for the remainder of the festival, which ended Sunday. Rev. Jonathan Meyer, a priest at the church, said today he was unaware of the incident. "It's a shame these young women didn't know the great gift and beauty they have as a woman," Meyer said. "The body is sacred and holy. We should be sad for them." Police called the 17-year-old girl's parents to the church grounds. The older girl was told if she returned to the festival she would be arrested for trespassing, Pitcher said. No criminal charges will be sought, Pitcher said. Q-Sex News Over 40,000 Foreign Women Working Berlin, GERMANY: Business is booming at the Artemis in Berlin, one of a number of "mega brothels" cashing in on the influx of World Cup soccer fans to Germany, where prostitution has been legal since 2002. For an entrance fee of about $90, visitors to Artemis, just down the street from the main World Cup stadium, can enjoy a gym, a pool and a champagne bar, along with big screen televisions so men can keep up with the matches. Patrons pay by the half-hour for sex with the brothel's young women. A half-hour including intercourse costs patrons $75 while oral sex is an additional $20. The German Women's Council estimates that over 40,000 foreign women have been brought into Germany as sex workers for this type of "mega brothel." Q-Sex News City Gives Back To Massage Parlor Brooklyn, NY: A Brooklyn Heights massage parlor owner who sued the NYPD after cops raided her business will be running to the bank soon! The city has agreed to write a check to Michelle Lam, the owner of Spring Thyme - a massage and acupuncture spa on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights - after she agreed to drop the suit. "All the parties are satisfied," said Lam's lawyer, Richard Cardinale, who declined to disclose the monetary terms of the deal. Lam, 49, was arrested last June by Brooklyn North vice cops who charged her with operating a massage parlor without a license. She was held in police custody for nearly 15 hours before the Brooklyn district attorney's office, citing a lack of evidence, declined to prosecute, according to her complaint. Her suit charged that the arrest caused her embarrassment in front of her customers and the Brooklyn Heights business community. Q-News Bust 13 BUSTED IN REVERSE STING Manatee, FL: A "prostitution reverse" resulted in the arrest of the men for solicitation of prostitution, a misdemeanor, Friday night. Thirteen men became snared in a Manatee County Sheriff's Office effort to curb prostitution on a stretch of U.S. 41 in southern Manatee County. It was a "prostitution reverse," that resulted in the arrest of the men for solicitation of prostitution, a misdemeanor. The operation was set up with a female decoy to target 'johns' in this area. The part of U.S. 41 that was monitored for this sting is not the only area the sheriff's office targets. The portion of the highway between downtown Bradenton and Cortez Road is also carefully monitored, said Dave Bristow, sheriff's spokesman. "We do these things quite often - every several weeks - and there's usually quite a few arrests," Bristow said. "This one was pretty successful." The sheriff's office tactical unit conducted the sting from about 4 p.m. to midnight. The operation included five detectives and four deputies with the Selective Enforcement Division. The arrested men were booked at the Whitfield Fire/Rescue Station, 7555 Ponce de Leon Ave., which was set up for the sting as a temporary operations center. Q-News Bust Cops Hit Craigslist Again! Jericho, NY: Nassau police undercover officers walked into five motel rooms and surprised suspected prostitutes who had allegedly offered their bodies in cyberspace. Vice squad Captain Steven Skrynecki held up graphic photos of suspects, downloaded, he said, from the popular Website, craigslist, where they were allegedly selling their wares. "All these arrests centered on advertisements that were found on craigslist, an Internet site open to the public, and in direct response to quite a bit of community complaints to the police department," Skrynecki said. One of the suspects is from Long Island. Two drove up from Miami and Orlando, Fla. And, finally, a twosome from Georgia arrived with a 4-year-old daughter in tow, subjecting her to child endangerment said investigators. Deputy Chief Richard McGuire issued a warning. "We will be monitoring and examining this Website and any other Website that promotes or advertises illegal behavior," McGuire said. Q-Sex News THE XXX TRAIN New York, NY: A porn actor accused of flashing women on the subway was captured after one victim memorized the address for his X-rated Web site - which was emblazoned on his jacket, cops said. Kenneth Hoyt, 41, of Hell's Kitchen, was wearing the jacket and a sarong - but no pants - when he allegedly exposed himself to a 25-year-old woman on an R train last month. She later checked out the Web site and recognized Hoyt - the star of adult videos like Playboy's "Sexcetera" and "Big Gulp" - as the man who flashed her. "I said, 'Oh, that's him!' And it had his phone number and a load of info. And I thought, 'What a moron,' " the victim, a nurse who lives in Manhattan said. She alerted police, who traced the site to Hoyt, a convicted sex offender in California with previous arrests for prostitution, public lewdness and stalking. He was arrested when he responded to a request to register with the NYPD's Sex Offender Monitoring Unit office, sources said. Three other victims then identified him in lineups. Hoyt allegedly exposed himself to two girls, ages 16 and 17, on a northbound N train between 14th Street and 23rd Street, then he struck again, cops say, flashing a 16-year-old girl on a southbound Q train at Canal Street. The nurse who helped capture Hoyt said he kept opening up his sarong and flashing her. She changed seats, and when he got up to leave, she saw the Web site's address. "Then he just walked off the train with no pants on, just flapping in the breeze," she said. "I was more horrified than anything. . . . It was actually disgusting."
